Here Comes Windows 10

Well here it is.  The latest Windows operating system Windows 10 or just W10 for short.

I always wait to see what everyone else says about Windows updates to their operating system before jumping on board.  It always seems prudent to let the masses shake out all the bugs before committing to an upgrade.

This time is no different and even more important.  I have heard some real pushy, invasive, heavy handed characteristics of W10 so we will just leave automatic updates off on our Windows 8.1 operating system PCs for now.

For those who just got caught up in the hype or just like jumping in the pool head first, there is some protection hacks already developed by the PC community.  That is what I love about PCs.  We got help.

For those who wish to go ahead and upgrade to W10 be cautious and follow this users careful instruction:

...........  Windows 10 asks if you want to share all of your private information by doing an express setup or control your privacy by doing an advanced setup. I chose advanced setup and configured all of these settings before Windows 10 even loaded the first time. This article leads you to believe that you have no choice but to go hunting for these settings after Microsoft has already raped you for your private information.......

Where there's help there's choices.  The biggest turn off to me is a lack of choice from MS to opt out of the upgrade.  The bigger issue is spying on the user.  Many first users complain of multiple pathways of serious data mining.  Not just your browser history.

Here is a link to disarm some of the most dangerous data mining paths to Microsoft:

https://hideu.wordpress.com/2015/08/13/how-to-kill-windows-10-privacy-spying-forever/

We will no doubt explore other operating system alternatives now and in the future.

"Elizath Warren is absolutely wrong on this" ?

President Barrack Obama says Elizabeth Warren is absolutely wrong on TPP Fast Track?  Really?

Isn't it her duty to raise questions and debate?  Let us debate.  Give everyone the details.  Show us the documents.  Let our representatives debate all trade agreements in our interests.

NJ to remove windows from all public schools.

Like a fat kid caught breaking windows at school.  NJ Governor Christie told NH out of towners that the latest Moodys bond rating downgrade just means that he is right again.  The pension system in NJ is the root of all NJ deficit.

Before it was Obama.  Now it is the pension shortfall.  Meanwhile the state is hiding the fact that the Governor took credit for funding, fixing reforming the system.  Then took the funding back and blamed the pension shortfall on the state workers that bargained for it over decades and rely on it.

He and Walker are trying to out do each other with their track record interpretations, but our guy is the best.
Wahhh!

I Don't Have to Commit a Crime.

I don't have to commit a crime, I have people do it for me.  That is how it works in New Jersey.   It works in every other state too for that matter.  The only point here is that we do it bigger and as Joe Biden would say "they don't hide the ball" in NJ.

Can you imagine how much juice, graft, slush, candy, shekels, or cream flows through the NJ Turnpike Authority?  Can you imagine what a job as Chairman of the NJTA is worth?  The Chairman of the NJ Turnpike Authority (NJTA) just retired from His Wolff Sampson Law Firm conglomerate.  Guess who takes over as head of that Law firm?

When you bought and paid for someone, you own them.

Exxon Mobil Bayway Settlement: Deadline for Comment June 5, 2015

exxonmobilbaywaysettlement@dep.nj.gov

Exxon Mobil Bayway Settlement:

The proposed settlement is inadequate and affront to NJ residents, US citizens and the world.  The very idea of this low a settlement reminds us of a third world junta bribery scandal.  Make no mistake that this is some small pollution case.

This is big.  Not just for NJ, but the nation and world.  If a person or corporation can anticipate little consequence for actions of conducting business the bar is lowered not just in NJ, the US, for all living organism, across every border and every region.

We urge the court to proceed to value any settlement to the standard of Exxon Valdez or BP Gulf.

Sincerely,

What are the odds?

4/3/2015

A weapon so horrible, life as we know it on earth could be eliminated.  The US Congress does not approve of?

The framework to eliminate for now a Nuclear armed Iran has been announced.  We could potentially breath a little easier with regard to the world's future of man made destruction.

It comes after a roar of hawkish criticism from the GOP, Israel and within the Democratic party itself.  Besides Israeli interference, US congressional obstructionism and a vocal US Senator Menendez further divides wide opinions of the UN brokered deal.

Menendez also made his disgust with normalizing Cuban relations known as the President uses executive carrots to push Cuba toward normalization.

It is ironic (or not) that today's announcement of the nuclear agreement framework follows the announcement of a federal indictment of Senator Menendez on corruption charges?

Bob Menendez as Foreign Relations Chair openly criticized the President for his efforts big time.   We tried it his way for 50 years of sanctions.  He wants it to continue on that poor country until what?

Good Luck Bob.  Should have bit your tongue. Don't let the door .......

As for the obstructionist hawks on both sides of the isle, guess sanctions did work.

100 Things to Do in New Jersey with Kids Before They Grow Up

Sister James Dolores, 73, gives her best surfer-girl pose in Stone Harbor, NJ, where her Pennsylvania convent owns a beachfront retreat called Villa Maria by the Sea.

New Jersey may finally get the shaft, but this time will have to pay for it.

It seems that building an additional rail tunnel to Manhattan is finally OK with our governor, but now there is no federal funds available.
After squandering an opportunity to begin replacement of the ageing tunnels six years ago and have most of it paid for by the federal government, the damaged tunnels must be repaired at the cost of untold millions.

Still no new replacement tunnel construction.  The money is gone.  The studies, property and equipment availability, engineering proposals and the transportation trust fund - gone.

Now repairs to the old crumbling rail tunnels must begin.  Now, like the Pulaski Skyway, the Goethals bridge, and all feeder routes, structures and infrastructure must be removed or restricted from service for repairs.  This comes at a time when there is no money and no reform of the process, leadership or agency in charge.

Mafia could not have done it better.  The only thing missing is a call by the governor to privatize the whole shebang because the Democrats have screwed this up so bad.

Really?

As the NJ to Manhattan commuters stack up waiting for 1/4 of the normal train capacity, do the Wallstreeters really believe it is the government's fault?  Do they really believe blocking Port Authority reform is beneficial?

Where does an agency so powerful, so secretive and so protected have a place in a democracy?  Unreformable, unindictable and able to protect themselves from any threat.  An interstate criminal enterprise.

Christie Administration Won’t Give Lawmaker Details On Exxon Settlement

New Jersey:  A legal pirate state.  Every state asset for sale.   Everything and anything of value is up for bounty.

Governorship gluttony.  An obese obscenity.
Carpet bragger privateer Christie sells out friends, donors employees, civil service, teachers, fire fighters and taxpayers.  Hold on to your wallet.  The closer to the end of a governors term the more feverish looting becomes.

It ain't just Jersey.

Sure we make fun of our governor here in NJ for underfunding pension obligations and taking credit for it.

Democrats learned how to do it without hiding the ball.  Look see what we did.  Yeah!

Tech Savy in Jersey

Photobucket and several other web sites now display virus messages "your system can't play media content and services properly.  Make sure to download the short update and install as shown. Update Version M. Player 9.2"

The virus is a malware hijack.  Do not do it.

You should know it is bogus by the wording.  Authentic updates don't use "can't" or "make sure" in the notice.

If you did, remove it instructions are here:

Just figured it out.

Just figured it out.

http://www.njspotlight.com/stories/14/11/25/analysis-partisan-and-labor-politics-drive-battle-over-health-benefits-reform/

I always wondered what argument a lawyer politician like Walker or Christie make when deciding to eliminate a category of mandatory bargaining like benefits from municipal workers.  I mean, how is it supported legally to enter into a bargaining agreement for health care with workers, and employee, agency or any legal entity, then just say you don't have the money.  Do you just tell them we don't have to?

I just saying, if you take him verbatim, he said "we don't have the money".  He is not saying we don't have to bargain.  Just that the bargain is not enforceable because it cost too much now.  If the law is imperfect enough under capitalism to permit breach of the contractual right to bargain, if government or any employer can hire people, entice them with benefits, enter into an agreement, pass laws to tax and control every aspect of worker/employee right to redress, then walk away from obligations and blame the worker/employee, isn't socialism right?

Now I know.  "I didn't sign that".  It is just a loop hole.  Lower than a car dealer salesman.  Lawyer.

The only satisfaction one can get is knowing that whoever deal with the Lawyer is likely to get the same treatment.

Hey Mom, I can handle your will.

And this is how we do it here in NJ.

Thankful

Thankful for 47 GOP signature on a letter to condemn Iran nuclear talks.

I am thankful for even this little GOP action on something.  Just wish they could get worked up by the war we are fighting with ISIS and debate that war before they try to force a nuclear proxy war with Iran.

Thanks anyway.

Thankful that Iran is not worried about our hawks.  Yet.

Thankful that Rick Scott lives in Florida. Nothing worth reading in that state since he gagged school books anyway.

Iowa Honesty from the little fat kid. (you can believe me, I'm a lawyer)

Chris Cristie on the Road.

Chris Cristie on the Road.

NJ Governor Cristie is out and about doing his shtick.  Insulting NJ residents in Iowa.  His disdain for anyone who disagrees with the crowd message is playing national.  It is what everyone likes to see on the worship trail.

He is not the same though.   Ever since his Great Britain schlep he has not been the same.  Ever since the measles remark he has changed.   He lost a lot of something.

He has become sort of mope.  He appears smaller and hunched over when he walks.  Maybe it is the trench coat, but he has become a mope.   A nasty one no doubt.   Still a mope.

Just sayin.

The New Torment.

The New Torment.

Watching the BBC Sunday.  An episode called Storyville.  It documents experiences of young Israeli Soldiers in the Palestinian occupation areas.
The 18 year old conscripts are soldiers, spotters and EMS.  Each one appears to honestly describe personal emotions they experienced during their tour of duty.

Very emotional stuff.

It shows a gradual erosion of youthful compassion into a hardened battle weary adolescence.  Almost Nazi like hardened arrogance.  A Jewish occupying force capable of dehumanizing torture and killing of unarmed civilians classified as "Arabs".  "We used to fire warning shots, now we don't".

The interviews are post duty tour comments.   It struck me personally as their complaints of mental anguish surfaced over some of the things they had done.   Evoking viewer sympathy for their unfortunate predicament.  It also is a stark reminder that PTSD is a human cost borne by all those exposed to trauma, violence and death.

It is the victims curse to become the tormentor.  The survivor becomes the exterminator.  Who really won?

What justice brings fulfillment?  What fulfillment?

To take everything from a people, to torture, to maim, and disgrace the human dignity of a corpse by youth in service of their country is frightening.  Gradual, persistent genocide disguised as what., occupation?

The very idea of humans being inhumane should frighten us all

Bibi is back!

Image for the news result
Israel's Netanyahu warns US against 'paving way to Iran bomb'

Bibi is back!

Watched the Israeli PM politically lecture us again on Iran.  Repeating of his Saddam Hussein speech, I could not help but think of the big head pushing the fear button while all the little heads clap.  The axis of evil, the red menace, domino effect and the spread of communism.  PM netanyahoo warns the world that the Iranian's wish his nation and the Jewish people death, destruction and annihilation.  For this his goal is a preemptive strike to reset Iran's development as a nuclear, military and a civilization.

Israeli leaders
lectured and quoted Moses.  Spoke Jewish.  Gave his historical destiny speech and even brought up genocide twice.  He brought his own traveling hollow-cost survivor to the show.  Congress stood up and applauded on Que 27 times.  They really impressed us.

The US Congress fear show runs out of their own fear talk sow they contracted out.   One thing left for sale is access to our country's legislature to foreign power.  They demonstrated to the world how easy is to gain access, influence and control.

What"s missing here?  No bomb drawing.  Dropped the Iran reference to having the bomb.  No mention of Palestinian peace prospects or self determination for their nation.  What about the settlements?  No mention of the Iraq war and what a favor that was.  Bibi show goes global.  What a mensch
.

This is How We Do It in Jersey

This is How We Do It in Jersey

Guess we never grasped or understood what was a proper Blog because this is the third time and may just be a charm.

Born, raised, lived, worked and retired in the great state of NJ.  Our blood is the dark juice of pine barren water, chemical haze of the Meadowlands and harsh Jersey winters.  We love the sound of the ocean, smell of creosote, and thump of the boardwalk.  The NJ experience (along with our beloved parents) formed the influencing juice that affects what we like, dislike, think, say and by influence, the way we behave or in NJ case misbehave.

Who are we in NJ?

Don't really know about anyone else.  It is not only us that does things a certain way.  NY?  What can you say they drive like.  Texas? Forget about a seat belt.  Florida?  Don't get me started.

Here in NJ theres no credit for how great an all round place NJ is

We are Catholic and Greek Orthodox children of immigrant parents and grand parents.  Working class men and women, striving to propel our offspring to an ever increasing standard of living.  We summered at Seaside.  Wintered in Newark.  Worked on the NJ railroads, highways, flea markets, steel warehouses, truck forwarding docks, hospitals, candy stores, paper routes and a lemonade stand.  We attended school, shoveled snow, repaired cash registers, delivered tires, stacked boxes, and raised two children here in New Jersey.  We vacationed on NJ streams and waterways, trails and parks, boardwalks, and the cobblestone streets of Ironbound streets.

At this stage of our lives we are blessed with time to read, write and reflect.  And reflect we shall.

We reflect the direction of history of our state, region and country.  We reflect our nation, heritage and future.  As residents, Americans and human beings, we reflect on the world.
