This is How We Do It in Jersey

This is How We Do It in Jersey

Guess we never grasped or understood what was a proper Blog because this is the third time and may just be a charm.

Born, raised, lived, worked and retired in the great state of NJ.  Our blood is the dark juice of pine barren water, chemical haze of the Meadowlands and harsh Jersey winters.  We love the sound of the ocean, smell of creosote, and thump of the boardwalk.  The NJ experience (along with our beloved parents) formed the influencing juice that affects what we like, dislike, think, say and by influence, the way we behave or in NJ case misbehave.

Who are we in NJ?

Don't really know about anyone else.  It is not only us that does things a certain way.  NY?  What can you say they drive like.  Texas? Forget about a seat belt.  Florida?  Don't get me started.

Here in NJ theres no credit for how great an all round place NJ is

We are Catholic and Greek Orthodox children of immigrant parents and grand parents.  Working class men and women, striving to propel our offspring to an ever increasing standard of living.  We summered at Seaside.  Wintered in Newark.  Worked on the NJ railroads, highways, flea markets, steel warehouses, truck forwarding docks, hospitals, candy stores, paper routes and a lemonade stand.  We attended school, shoveled snow, repaired cash registers, delivered tires, stacked boxes, and raised two children here in New Jersey.  We vacationed on NJ streams and waterways, trails and parks, boardwalks, and the cobblestone streets of Ironbound streets.

At this stage of our lives we are blessed with time to read, write and reflect.  And reflect we shall.

We reflect the direction of history of our state, region and country.  We reflect our nation, heritage and future.  As residents, Americans and human beings, we reflect on the world.
